Entr’acte: Intergenerational Romanticism

Joined by members of the Bard Conservatory Orchestra and Vocal Arts Program, the current graduating class of the Graduate Conducting Program lead The Orchestra Now in their culminating degree recital.

German Romanticism makes up the extent of the program, from Felix Mendelssohn’s concert overture Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage, to Johannes Brahms’ Second Symphony, and lastly to highlights from Richard Strauss’ Der Rosenkavalier. Two American interludes are weaved within the program, featuring John Adams’ the Chairman Dances and Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte.

Emmanuel will be closing the program with scenes from Richard Strauss’ opera Der Rosenkavalier, joined by singers of the Bard Vocal Arts Program.
